Blazers at Rockets Game Chat

Revenge?

Will Rockets get Wood tonight?
Feelin’ probable.

The Rockets began their season with a cancelled game against OKC. The game they played first was against the Portland Trailblazers. In that game James Harden looked great, and scored 44pts, and dished 17 assists. Christian Wood debuted with the Rockets, and scored 31pts. Hopes ran high amongst many Rockets fans for a fruitful and lasting relationship between Harden and Wood. Alas, it was not to be.

That game ended in typically dramatic fashion, with the Trailblazers making a last second heave to beat the Rockets. It’s really their preferred method when playing Houston. CJ McCollum was the culprit this time, and he matched Harden’s scoring output with 44pts of his own.

Tonight McCollum is out with a broken foot, and the Blazers will do their best to match the Rockets thin bench of the first game with Yusuf Nurkic, Robert Covington and Zach Collins all sitting tonight. Rodney Hood and Derrick Jones are probable.

The Rockets are of course a very different team, but tonight might (might!) mark the first time that different team has largely played together. Victor Oladipo, John Wall and Christian Wood might play a basketball game - AT THE SAME TIME. It might happen tonight!
