Houston Rockets vs. Toronto Raptors preseason game preview

Preseason Game #3!

In tonight’s third preseason contest, the Houston Rockets will likely use this game as the final dress rehearsal before the season tips off next Wednesday (!!!) against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Rockets will get opportunities to correct some mistakes and iron out some kinks that appeared in the first two games.

Tonight, I’m looking to see if the offense will run a bit smoother than it did against the Miami Heat. The Heat defended really well, and it showed that the Rockets have a lot of work to do on the offensive end. Seeing Christian Wood become more comfortable with Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green in the high-low game will be key tonight.

I’m also curious as to who Stephen Silas will place in the starting lineup at the 3. It’s pretty clear that KPJ and Green will start in the backcourt and that Daniel Theis and Wood will start in the frontcourt, but the last spot remains a mystery.

Eric Gordon and Danuel House Jr. were inserted into those spots in the first two preseason games but didn’t produce a whole lot of success. Perhaps Jae’Sean Tate or KJ Martin grabs that spot tonight to audition for the final starting spot, and if either player performs well, they can claim it for the regular season.

Tip-off is at 6pm CT on AT&T SportsNet Southwest
