Rockets at Thunder Gamechat

This time it’s not terribly personal.

For the first time in seemingly forever the Rockets have no players that have played for the Oklahoma City Thunder on their team. This is deeply refreshing, because, deep down, I don’t give a crap about the Oklahoma City Thunder. I just don’t. I don’t care. Their story mostly annoys me, if anything.

So no talks of great trades, bad trades, the feelings of a conflicted fanbase, how some player overemphasizes just how serious he is and the other one under emphasizes it. No more of how that should make us all feel a bit bad for not liking the super serious player, more, or at all, because he’s so intense and super serious.

You know why?

Because neither one is a Rocket. We don’t have to have this discussion. (God knows various announcers and pundits will anyway.)

RECORD SCRATCH SOUND

Wait, there IS a former OKC player on this team. He wasn’t traded to the Rockets from OKC, but he’s on the team all the same. OKC fans, get ready to generate some more bitterness, and tell us how we all should feel about...Victor Oladipo.

You can’t, can you? Not wholeheartedly. Because he was just another example of a star player imported into your system who didn’t flourish there. Then he was fine, better, even, when he left. We’re all too familiar with that phenomenon, aren’t we?

Anyhow, the Rockets are looking to go above .500 tonight, and bring their win streak to six games.

The Thunder are looking to show off their assets, or something, whatever.
