The suffering potentially continues tonight for the Houston Rockets as they head to Cleveland to take on the 11-21 Cavaliers.
Cleveland is coming off a 10-game slide that they just ended yesterday with a one-point win at home against Atlanta. So if any team understands the frustration that the Rockets are currently battling through, it’s the Cavs. That 10-game losing streak is the longest in the NBA this season, but at 8 straight Houston is pushing for that unfortunate honor.
Cleveland is coached by former interim Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff. Another connection these teams has is Kevin Porter Jr., whom the Cavs released and the Rockets picked up. Porter Jr. is currently playing with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the Gubble, but is likely to see the main roster soon if he stays out of trouble. Finally, Taurean Prince and Jarrett Allen were involved in the James Harden trade.
With Andre Drummond sitting out as the team works on his path forward, the team has officially become Collin Sexton’s baby. The former Crimson Tide guard is averaging 23 points and 4 assists per game. The team also has Darius Garland (16 ppg) as a scoring threat.
Kevin Love has missed most of the season with a calf injury. He’s going to be back soon, but had a small setback in practice recently. He could return tonight, which would be par for the course for Houston this year.
Victor Oladipo and Eric Gordon are questionable tonight.
Tip-off is at 6:30pm CT on AT&T SportsNet Southwest
