The San Antonio Spurs have dodged a couple of bullets when it comes to their games against the Houston Rockets.
In the first two-game set between these teams, the Rockets barely had enough players to field a team due to injuries and the James Harden trade. Houston somehow won the first game thanks to 27 points and 15 rebounds from Christian Wood. He won’t be available tonight due to the ankle injury he suffered on Thursday night. I’m also convinced that the league forced the Harden trade through right before the second game between these teams so it wouldn’t get postponed. The Spurs took that game comfortably with a superior second half.
The Spurs are 12-10 and currently sit in the eighth spot in the Western Conference. There are seven teams in the West separated by a single game, from Denver at 12-9 to Houston at 11-10. So expect some interesting movement over the next couple of weeks.
For the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge is out with hip soreness. Lonnie Walker IV (illness) and Dejounte Murray (ankle soreness) are questionable.
Tip-off is at 7pm CT on AT&T SportsNet Southwest
