Rockets vs. Suns game preview: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Tank

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets continue their West Coast time zone trip against the Phoenix Suns. It’s another difficult game in a schedule that does Houston a lot of favors in their quest for the tank.

These teams just played last week, but a refresher is nice. The Suns are solidly in the second place in the West, 2.5 games back of Utah in first and 2 games ahead of the Clippers as of this writing (the Clips are playing Detroit as I write this so they will probably win that one).

Chris Paul has been a real difference maker for the Suns. Even at 35 years old, CP3 has given them immediate viability as a top team. On paper, they don’t have the talent of a healthy Lakers or Clippers squad, but they definitely have the scoring and defensive chops to hang with anyone.

I know that we’re all giving Stephen Silas a pass on this season because of the nature of the situation. But should we be worried that the Rockets continue to play poorly in fourth quarters? At some point, he has to show that he can win some of these close games, right?

Tip-off is at 9pm CT on AT&T SportsNet Southwest
