Rockets vs. Clippers game preview: hello last place my old friend

NBA: Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Clippers Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets once again sit alone in last place. The Los Angeles Clippers are in third place in the West and have to keep winning to have a chance at moving past Phoenix for the second spot and to keep the Denver Nuggets at bay.

In short, this game should be a slaughter.

These teams met two weeks ago in a game won handily by the Clippers, 126-109. Paul George was out, but it didn’t matter. Kawhi Leonard, Reggie Jackson, and Terance Mann combined to shoot 67% from the field. Houston was actually up 10 points heading in the second quarter, but were outscored 41-10 in the frame. That was the ballgame, as Houston never really had a chance after that.

For the Clippers, Leonard is out with a foot injury. Patrick Beverley and Serge Ibaka are out as well, though Ibaka’s return seems to fast approaching. Rajon Rondo is day-to-day.

Tip-off is at 7pm CT on AT&T SportsNet Southwest
