SB Nation Reacts: Oladipo for Olynyk?

A change of heart?

We had a special Houston Rockets question this week for our local H-town voters, and it revolved around the trade deadline deal that GM Rafael Stone made that sent Victor Oladipo to the Miami Heat in exchange for Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley, and a 2022 pick swap.

Stone was widely derided in the Twitter-verse, in some league circles, and even among some Rockets fans for failing to turn Oladipo, the key player piece in the James Harden trade earlier this season, into something more substantial.

However, the play of Olynyk and Oladipo since they’ve gotten to their respective new destinations has some giving this trade valuation a bit of a second thought, so we decided it was a good time to ask our Rockets readers if the return on Oladipo has been better than advertised or if they will still dissatisfied. Here’s the results:

As usual, we also asked our Rockets fans about their confidence in the direction of the team, and it seems that the trade has people believing in Stone again. I, for one, haven’t stopped yet, but fan confidence is up overall.
