The basketball gods have finally shined down on the Houston Rockets.
The NBA Draft lottery awarded the Rockets with the second pick in next month’s draft.
The Rockets will pick after the Detroit Pistons, who won the NBA Draft lottery.
This is the highest the Rockets have picked since the team took Yao Ming first overall back in 2002.
With Cade Cunningham the likely first overall pick, many mock drafts have the team slated to pick Evan Mobley, a seven-foot center out of USC.
Mobley is a big man with abilities to create his own shot, create for others and a defensive presence that should challenge some of the best bigs in the league today. Some scouts compare him to players like Pau Gasol and Chris Bosh.
We spoke about Mobley on a recent episode of The Dream Take.
Mobley is a big reason to get Rockets fans excited and is a good first draft pick in the new look team.
