Hey, guys... not much going on in the world of the Houston Rockets right now, but it is the Fourth of July, and all of us at TDS want to wish all of our readers a safe and happy holiday.
I’m taking in the day by watching Jaws at home (the ultimate Fourth of July flick, in my opinion), and then I’ll be taking my four-year-old to see the fireworks later. I’m sure she’ll be asleep in the backseat before I even get home.
I expect it to be crazy out there, especially with the country pretty much fully re-opened at this point, most adults fully vaccinated, and the pent-up going out demand from the last 18 months, so you all should be sure to be careful out there whether you’re travelling by foot, plane, car or boat.
I also have some heavy-duty fireworks to set off, but I’m not sure I’ll be getting around to that this year.
I realize a lot of people have differing opinions on the birth of this country and not everyone takes it in a positive light, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, be with the people I love, and have a community of friends both in my local town and online here at SB Nation, so that’s worth celebrating to me.
Happy Fourth of July, y’all. Stay with us as we lead up to the NBA Draft.
