A Rockets flutter in Las Vegas?

I’ll be traveling to Las Vegas this weekend to watch some of the BattleBots tournament (sorry no spoilers - I signed an NDA sort of thing). It’s pretty cool they’ve moved the venue from some sort of warehouse in the LA area to a place that has tons of amenities and things to do. Now perhaps a dream of BattleBots + Vegas Summer League might come true one day. In a better timeline it probably already has.

But Las Vegas is known for something more than combat robotics and NBA ingenues.

Gambling.

I know, shocking.

Perhaps I should place a wager on the Rockets?

I’m not a gambler, but I’m willing to learn a bit I suppose. Adam Silver and the NBA have told me sports wagering is a wholesome family activity that the Association wholeheartedly endorses. (Where that’s going to end up is a matter of some speculation, and dare I say, doubt, in some quarters.)

I understands odds, and probability, fairly well. I’ve worked in fields where assessing risk, and upside and downside, were key parts of my job. The world, has had a strenuous introduction into high stakes risk assessment in the past 18 months as well.

I’m hoping that if I join the NBA on its wholesome family journey into sports wagering, that I’ll be able do any spending in the “extremely discretionary entertainment” realm. Of course I’m fairly clearly somewhat obsessed by the NBA and the Rockets, so there’s that complicating factor.

So given that I can legally walk right up and put my money down on something Rockets-related as of tomorrow evening, what would you suggest?
