The Rockets will wear a alternate sleeved jersey to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The Rockets have a new uniform for 2014-2015 season. Bad news, it's not throwback and it's sleeved. Good news, it's improvement over the previous editions of special alternate uniforms in years past. Houston will wear a red sleeved-jersey that has 'Rockets' spelled out in mandarin (火箭) for three straight games during the Lunar New Year, as first reported by Clutchfans.com.

The 2015 Lunar New Year falls on February 19, 2015, and marks the year of the goat. The Rockets will wear the mandarin jersey on February 21 against the Raptors, February 23 against the Timberwolves, and February 25 against the Clippers on ESPN.

***

Clutchfans.com goes on further to talk about possible changes to the Rockets uniforms in 2015-2016, including two alternate jerseys and minor font and sholder cut changes to the primary jerseys. Of course there are limits on the specifics of the alternates, but one will include "Clutch City" and the other will be a sleeved jersey.

At Rockets media day, James Harden discussed his poor defense, and his need to improve next year.

At Houston Rockets media day, James Harden sat down for his interview and predictably the discourse shifted to his defense. After a World Cup in which Harden asserted himself in a larger role, Harden still came under fire for a perceived lack of effort on the defensive end. Here's what Harden had to say on his goals to improve defensively in 2014-15:

James Harden: "At times, my defense was pretty bad." Excited to try and fix that. #Rockets

Until we see something on the court, it's all lip service, but it is at least good to hear that Harden is aware of the criticism and at least appears to be eager to change that reputation. Confirmation bias is strong enough that it will be a difficult reputation to shake, but with a renewed effort, Harden could make a huge difference in the Rockets' defense. With Omer Asik in New Orleans, the Rockets lack a serious shot-blocker outside of Dwight Howard, meaning that there will be even more asked of the guards to control the perimeter. If Harden continued his mediocre efforts of yesteryear, the team could give up a ton of points in 2014-15.

Jason Terry is a Rocket now, and but it's still a little weird to see him in the jersey.

The Rockets made the Jason Terry trade official over two weeks ago, but it still is taking some time to get used to the idea of Terry in a Rockets jersey. Just in case you had a hard time imagining it, here Terry is in the jersey at media day, courtesy of the Houston Rockets twitter.

In his first interview, Terry discussed how much he likes playing at the Toyota Center, noting how the red backdrop of the Toyota Center is like a bullseye for him. Let's hope that his hot streak in Houston continues this year, as the Rockets will be in a much better position with their bench if Terry can produce like he did in Dallas before moving to Boston and Brooklyn.

No matter what, however, it is going to be weird seeing Terry suit up for the Rockets.

Trevor Ariza met with the media for the first time this season at media day. Here are a few of his quotes in his inaugural interview.

For the first time since coming back to the Rockets after a one year stint four years ago, Trevor Ariza met with the media on Monday afternoon. We've grabbed some of his best quotes for you here:

Ariza also discussed the Rockets defensive acumen, poking fun at times at the team from last year, but also noting that they need to spend more energy focused on that end of the floor. Let's hope Ariza can provide that energy in his first year back.

Want to follow along with Rockets media day but can't be there? We'll have all the updates here!

It's media day in Houston, which means the players, coaches, and executives will all be on hand to discuss the changes from the summer, plans for the year, and much more. You'll hear about which player is reporting to camp in the "best shape of his life," which jumper-challenged guard spent the summer shooting 1000 shots a day, or which veteran feels "as good as he has in the last five years" today, as well as potentially some interesting nuggets about the Rockets' plans for the season.

Daryl Morey will presumably be on hand to discuss his comments on Mark Cuban from last night, and the Rockets' decision to let Chandler Parsons go in free agency. If you have the time, you can watch the whole thing unfold at the live stream here, with the schedule for interviews as follows:
